Our Story
Founded in 2005, Spoil the Dog Bakery was born out of love for the family dog, Mocha, and a desire to soothe his itchy paws. Our first recipe, Peanut Butter Crunch, was created using chickpea flour as the protein instead of meat. Mocha loved these treats and so did the neighbourhood dogs. Sales grew organically from the neighbourhood to the Guelph Farmers Market, to other pet stores across Ontario and a physical store front in St. Jacobs.
In 2026, we are continuing Spoil the Dog's vision of providing all natural treats that not only spoil your dogs, they benefit their gut health and overall wellbeing. All baked treats are meat, corn and wheat free. Our own boys Jasper and Buster have benefited from these treats for years and love being the quality control team.
All baked treats have a 1-year shelf life, and we always list ingredients for health-conscious pet parents. Thank you to everyone for your continued support over 20 years!

How We Choose Ingredients
Real-food ingredients for every taste, tummy, and treat-time preference. At Spoil the Dog Bakery, we use only the freshest market products and purchase organic whenever possible. All baked treats are corn, wheat, soy and poultry free, avoiding the most common dog food allergens.
Ginger
Natural anti-inflammatory may offer relief from inflamed joints due to arthritis.
Pumpkin
Good for digestion, source of fibre and vitamin A
Turmeric
A powerful antioxidant that may slow down aging and help treat gastrointestinal disorders and arthritic pain.
Coconut
Boost immune system, may help in formation of red blood cells and clear up skin conditions, flea allergies and itchy skin.
Chickpea Flour
A good source of many vitamins, also high in calcium, dietary fibre, and low in saturated fat.
Cinnamon

Unlike chocolate, which is toxic to dogs, carob is caffeine-free and contains protein, fibre, and many vitamins

All baked treats have a 1-year shelf life with no preservatives. We bake in small batches weekly, so what you receive is always fresh.
Yes. Every treat we bake is wheat-free, corn-free, soy-free, and meat-free, and we list every ingredient on the label. Many of our customers come to us specifically for dogs with sensitivities and allergies.
Standard cakes that are not customized are available same day as supplies last.
We need 72 hours advance notice for custom birthday cakes so we can bake everything fresh. You can customize the name, colour, and message, then arrange pickup from our St. Jacobs location.
Frozen treats are available for in-store pickup only at our St. Jacobs location. All baked treats ship across Canada and have a 1-year shelf life without preservatives.
